2023 Season Wrap Up

Our last two previous seasons had not been as successful as we wanted them to be so heading into the 2023 season Burke Lacrosse was starting a reload process. Some new recruits, new coaches, and a new team culture brought new expectations for the team. As expected with a reload the season started off slow and rocky; However, in mid-season everything started to click. The team rallied around itself and started producing results. By the end of the season, we had won a handful of games, some against those that we did not expect to beat; We had recruited a large number of new players to the sport; We had increased our sponsors from the previous season; and we were in a battle for the last playoff seed. Unfortunately, we came up just shy of making the playoffs by a handful of scored goals. 2023 was a success as we had surpassed all of our goals and the team is heading into the Summer Travel Ball season confident that 2024 will be even better. In 2024 the bar will be set higher and expectations will be raised but we are ready for the challenge.

2023 Alumni Game

Burke Lacrosse’s First Alumni Game

On Saturday, July 22nd we will host our first Alumni Game at Burke Stadium. The game will feature alumni as well as the current roster. We are still in the planning stages, for now, we are expecting to have a current players vs alumni game (pups vs old dogs) and if everyone is still in good enough shape an old dogs vs older dogs game.

We are working on plans for a BBQ after the games at the stadium.

Alumni will have to figure out which bar they are heading to after the BBQ and parents can meet at (TBD).

All former players, parents, and friends of the program are welcome.

Tentative Schedule:

1:00 Stadium Opens

2:00 Warm Ups

2:30 Pups vs Old Dogs – (10-minute running clock, 10-minute half time)

3:45 Old Dogs vs Older Dogs game (8-minute running clock, 10-minute half time)

5:00 Enjoy the BBQ

Athletes: Take care of your bodies

As we enter the season make sure you are taking care of your body! You only get one of those! We went through winter training and began spring ball very quickly yet we must not forget to take care of the vessel that carries the lacrosse talent. Make sure to keep up on fluids and fuel your body with good things. No fast food, soda, or candy! The machine will produce the most power with the proper fuel.

Burke Lax Gear

Burke Lacrosse will have an apparel store opened before the season. We are looking to haver an online store available September and January. Stay tuned to order gear! As for lacrosse equipment here in Omaha – Dicks Sporting Goods, Scheel’s, Play It Again Sports, and Off The Bench Hockey Shop are some great places that carry lacrosse equipment in the metro. There are always many sites online to take advantage of for equipment as well. If you have questions talk to the coaches.

Fall Lacrosse

After a successful Summer Lacrosse season, the Bulldogs are rolling right into the school year with Fall Ball! These sessions will consist of practice on the turf, classroom / film sessions, and strength / conditioning sessions. Burke holds its fall program at the highest standards and is very valuable for integrating the new players into the program and building on our team chemistry. Contact us with any questions!
