Impact Stories
1. Continue to Rebuild Participation: Omaha Burke Lacrosse, like all youth athletic activities, saw a decreased level of enrollment after the Covid-disrupted school year, our top priority was to rebuild in-person engagement greater than ever before. We are proud to report that 22-23 saw the highest participation ever at Omaha Burke Lacrosse.
2. Alignment with the Youth Lacrosse League: We have begun our mission to help grow and foster youth teams playing in Omaha’s Youth Lacrosse League to coincide with the high school program. Utilizing shared resources, coaching staff, volunteers, and Try Lax events we hope to create tangible paths for younger athletes to remain in the sport until high school graduation.
3. Success on the Field: In addition to growth in recruitment, the 2022-23 season also saw Omaha Burke Lacrosse achieve great things on the field. The past two seasons post-covid were difficult. As recruitment and participation were down, we saw a lack of direct success on the field; however, in 2022-20233 the players and coaches were able to change the culture of the team and put ourselves on a path of success to the playoffs.
